Hi there,
Well, matrix is an open and decentralized protocol, which Telegram is not.
>From my point of view, I would prefer Matrix, although it also as issues
like being over paranoic on security and encryption, which currently is
sometimes annoying from a UX perspective.
I've always been annoyed by the telegram/Signal/Whatsapp approach, where
it is much more difficult to discover if a QGIS room exists.
Matrix has room discovery just like IRC, and since we can host the
servers one days, I would vote for it.
If we really want to go on a phone-first centered app, I would rather
vote for Signal than for telegram, even if it is de facto here.
Ps: my phone, probably has yours, is full of
signal-whatsapp-telegram-matrix apps. Rationalizing this a bit would be
very nice for our project.
Best regards
Régis
