[Qgis-user] QGIS action execution error 0x800706ba

Well, my question could be a tricky one. I am working on win7 qgis
1.7.4, I produced actions for point shp file. I did it using command
cmd /c %DIR where DIR is the column with exact direction of each file
attached to each point. Direction was checked by windows "run" command
and worked (jpg opened in default image browser) and now for the issue
- when I try to run the action it has like 20 - 60% probability of
correct launching and opening correct image but the usuall outcome of
the process is an error window saying (translating from native
language):

error precludes displaying photography or video

error code: 0x800706ba

so summing up - when I spam the action button in object identification
window in qgis I am eventually able to open the correct file but with
a lot of this error windows alongside the process which I not
necessarily like nor need. Is this somehow avoidable? cause it makes
the viewing of this additional files a pain in my u-know-where.

Any1 could help me please with solving this problem? I'd be grateful
and post more info should you require it.
