Hi,
All you listed is possible to process in qgis via all possibilities offered
by backend integrated in processing (GRASS; SAGA, native qgis algs etc
etc), btw about LIDAR data in a week I'll push a new provider for qgis
processing toolbox that will allow the use of PDAL (http://www.pdal.io) in
processing. This will allow you to create automatic workflow to
automatically process basin delineation from lidar data. BTW right now you
can already use LASTools integrated in processing toolbox. las2dem command
can generate dem for basin delineation.
I strongly suggest to
1) avoid to spend for Arc licences and in opposite
A) invest in qgis upstream fixes via hiring core developers or financing
directly qgis project
B) customize your workflows hiring a power user
C) pay training to do all above in-house
2) invest contributing the new PDALtools in processing
3) invest contributing to PDAL
all above suggestion allow your company to have ALSO a more direct control
on your product respect depending on external marketing decisions.
regards
Luigi Pirelli
