It shouldn't do that. How did you install? On a silent install it might take
quite a while before "QGIS 3.42.1" is created and files appear.
So there's a chance that you thought the install was done, mistook an existing
installation in Q with the new one that was still ongoing (the directories in Q
should have a timestamp from install time).
