Hi
i really strongly recommend you read the documentation and have a basic
understanding of raster data file types. xml files are text files.

   - See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIS_file_format#Raster_formats
   - the QGIS user documentation on adding layers
   - or in chrome use the AI response to 'qgis add raster layer'
   - or qgis supported raster layer formats
   - there are many qgis youtube tutorials of varying quality but try
   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz54AE_Tc9I

I suspect the most often used raster file types used will be geotiff (*.tif
or *.tiff) but as you can see from the documentation there are 140
supported formats.

regards
