 I like the idea of engaging service providers with an osgeo id and their
 taking responsibility for their appearance on our website.

 Alternative would be something similar to what GeoForAll? has requested, a
 form for service providers to fill in, and a volunteer responsible for
 review/approve submitted service providers. Without a volunteer willing to
 take on this responsibility I do not want to promote this approach.
