[SoC] GSoC - 2021 Introduction and Project Information

Hello everyone,

I am Sandeep Saurav, a first year M-Tech(in Geoinformatics and Natural
Resources) student at IIT Bombay(INDIA). Here's my GitHub and LinkedIn
handle [1] and [2].

Firstly, I would like to thank OSGeo and MapMint Community for recognizing
me and giving me this fantastic opportunity to work as a Student Developer
this Google Summer of Code 2021.

I will be working on the project titled: "Integrating 3D scene builder as
WPS services within MapMint administration User Interface" [3].

With the current state of MapMint Software the user can Import and store
vector and raster GIS data, Visualize and share map, Query Database etc.
These all can be done with 2D models/datasets. But when it comes to
creating and visualizing 3D models or Point Clouds or AR scenes the users
are helpless. So with this motivation i’ll be creating an interface such
that the user not only visualise and share 3D scenes but can also create
and virtually interact with the 3D objects and with smarter functionality.

I have completed the tasks below:

   1. I have read the GSoC student's guide and OSGeo's specific
   instructions.
   2. I have forked the MapMint's repository [4].

I request community members to please provide some feedback or suggestions.
I would love to discuss any suggestions and feedback about the project.

I am excited and  looking forward to a really productive summer
