[TCMUG] [FOSS4GNA 2013 LOC] Re: MN GIS/LIS

All,

I'm considering this a dry run for the FOSS4G-NA stuff to tell the truth.

I think it will come down to how short the runs can be in the end on whether we can afford things. Whatever the minimum run limit ends up being is it. Any extras go to the audience / attendees, with volunteers getting first dibs.

Nancy,

I would suggest if we do shirts now that we just do them for Conference Committee folks (with a commitment to help at the booth). I think these would end up being a bit different than what we would give out at FOSS4GNA as we'd want to have the dates/url on them for promotional purposes. Maybe a couple extra to give out in the overall door prizes?

I do think buttons or stickers or magnets or pens are something to look at.

As much as possible, I would like to keep what we spend here constrained by the budget of what we pull in for booth sponsors for GIS/LIS. We really don't have anything in the conference budget for this type of marketing.

Getting the logo by GIS/LIS would be great -
Could we get it on at least buttons, if not t-shirts? if we do t-shirts at the meeting I'm not sure about doing them now?
DB, remind me what we have in the budget for promotion...

Hi Bob,

That's a great idea about t-shirts. My experience with FOSS4G is that
attendees really love these shirts, but local committees leave this to
the last minute (some have even wanted to charge attendees for them,
until I scream foul ha). I am happy that you are already thinking of
this now.

Speaking of that (and thinking of the FOSS4GNA logo on the t-shirt),
what is the FOSS4GNA logo? (logos for FOSS4G always have a small part
of the original 'ribbon' - notice the ribbon in all of the logos at
www.foss4g.org<http://www.foss4g.org>)
