I can step up if that’s helpful.

I’m currently coordinating a Conservation GIS<http://www.cambridgeconservationforum.org.uk/conservation-gis> movement in Cambridge based around the Cambridge Conservation Forum and Cambridge Conservation Initiative. I’m also the group admin for the WILDLABS.NET GIS Group<https://www.wildlabs.net/community/group/gis>. I’m currently in discussion with the Society for Conservation GIS about setting up a UK Chapter.

I don’t have a great deal of time to offer, but would like to be able to contribute in some way. Can you provide any more detail about what would be expected?

I don’t know whether this is relevant, but I’m also part of an informal committee with Liz Scott and Barry Rowlingson looking to organise a FOSS4G Eco/Conservation conference. We’ll probably be applying to OsGeo:UK for funding for this event (now looking like it would be in 2018), and I wouldn’t want to compromise this in any way by being a trustee i.e. conflict of interest etc.

Dear List,

We're looking for at least one additional person (alongside Jo (me) as Chair, Ant Scott as Secretary and Steven Feldman as Treasurer) to act as a trustee for OSGeo:UK when we become a Charity.

The role of a trustee is to ensure that OSGeo:UK meets its goals and objectives (see http://uk.osgeo.org/files/OSGeoUK_Final_Charity_Constitution)

and to keep a check on our finances and activities. This should not be particularly onerous work! Please feel free to contact me on or off list if you'd like to discuss.

So we can move charity registration forward, if any responses could be in by end of play on Friday (25th August) I'd be very grateful
