[OSGeo-UK] Email Newsletter to event attendees

Hi Jo

My thoughts, others may differ

Because:
Not everyone likes mailing lists
Not all of our event attendees over the last x years are on the list or want to be
The list is better at conversation than broadcast
The list only supports pretty simple content (limited graphics and layout)
I don’t think it is possible to segment a list, so everyone gets everything which is far from ideal in an outreach strategy

I could go on but in summary: if we want to reach out to people who aren’t veterans of the list culture we may want to try different tools

>>> Brevo (formerly Send in Blue) offers unlimited contacts but only 300 emails per day (so would require batching somehow) and includes segmentation https://www.brevo.com/pricing/marketing-platform/see-all-features/
>>>
>>> Sender looks good 2,500 free contacts and 15,000 sends per month, includes segmentation. They also offer a PAYG model where we pay £4.68/1000 emails if we need the advanced features but only a few times per year https://www.sender.net/pricing/
