[VisCom] RE: Site stats?

Michael,

I was running it by our ops manager to see what limitations, if any, we
had in giving stats access. He said he didn't see any (to your point)
and told me its fine to share the id/pwd with the general community. I
need to get that info from our stats guy and have him send it out to
you. You should get it today.

Andrew

Andrew-

I think this issue is still open, as I didn't see a response to my
question -- perhaps I missed it?

No, actually by "all" I meant "everyone" -- as an open organization, we
generally try not to have restrictions on information.

Forgive my ignorance, as I have no web site admin sort of experience,
but is there some articulable reason such information can be exported
out, e.g. security? I know that other (public) sites do offer such
services and reports.

Information like what files are being downloaded, who is referring over
to our site, when traffic increases, what pages are most popular, etc,
would help us be able to better understand the OSGeo community and their
needs.

Thanks.
