sorry for late answer.

Nice to hear that you run the Workshop material.

When you are passing input data by reference specifying an xlink:href attribute, as you did in your example, it means that ZOO-Kernel is waiting for a downloadable ressource, a URL.
Nevertheless, the ZOO-Kernel should return a more informative message letting the user know that the provided input is wrong which is not the case right now.
