[Qgis-user] QGIS Saving TAB as SHP

*Hi Phil,*
We where proposing to do that, but it would only really be a temporary
solution or Fix.

*Hi Nicolas,*
I haven't checked this in other formats, I will look into this when I
get a chance, but even if its not an problem in other formats, its still
an issue. I will also log the Bug.
It has been an issue for quite a while and it still persists in QGIS 3
and it would be nice as part of QGIS core if it could finally be remedied.
The crazy thing is, the TAB file opens in QGIS perfectly, no issues! it
only becomes an issue when you try to save the file as a shapefile.
My main concern here is that, we have been pushing QGIS as *the* GIS
solution in the office, phasing out MapInfo. A lot of the people we are
trying to win over are users of MapInfo, so we have a lot of data in
both TAB and SHP formats, we are trying to get these people to use SHP,
and the tool we want them to use, cant reliably convert from TAB to SHP,
without a work around.
