[Conference-europe] when and where

About the time of organizing the conference.

I think begin of July could be a good period to organise the conference,
if we make it a tradition to organize it on a university campus every time.
I think it is important to allocate the same time-period year after year
for the event.

Choosing for begin July should reduce the price of the event and people
can plan their holidays if they now in advance this is the period for
the FOSS4G-EU conference. This is certainly a pro.

Another idea is following the trend that different geo events are
organized end of May, begin of June in Europe:
Inspire conference, Agile conference, Geoworld forum, ...
On the INSPIRE 2014 conference there was an announcement to organize
INSPIRE 2015 in co-operation with Geoworld Forum 2015 in Lisbon,
Portugal [1] from 24 to 29 May in Lisbon

Maybe we should think of organizing the event the week before/ the week
after or the same week as these events, optimizing travel time and time
resources.
IMHO a code sprint can run parallel with the INSPIRE conference, where
some attendants are interested attending the INSPIRE talks, and some
developers the code sprint. But in the evening, a fruitful exchange of
energy and idea's can be realized by sitting together with a beer and
some food, having fun - ready to change the world.

And as a remark to Jachym's last remark in his mail:

[...]
Any thoughts to this? Or shall we just call for venue with and see,
what will come?
[...]

Just call for Venue and wait and see is not a good idea (my 2c). I think
the organisation team should decide on the time-slot.

I saw that this could be the best period with respect to other events in Europe (and not only in Europe) and we have no other events also in Como (and therefore I'm able to book the Aula Magna - as a matter of fact already booked).
