Dear all,
apologies for joining this thread a bit late. First, I thank Marian and the
Romanian colleagues for proposing the event, I’m sure they have the
experience and skills to organise a successful FOSS4G Europe.

I would like to ask the proposers the following clarifications:
- dates: I agree with Tõnis about the proximity to the global FOSS4G, and
in addition I would like to point out that the end of July/beginning of
August falls within the typical holiday period, at least in
Southern Europe. If dates are flexible, the first half of July (as done in
2023, 2024 and 2025) may lead to an increased participation.
- tracks: the proposal does not mention which tracks are planned to be
organised. For example, there is no mention about the Academic Track.
- the proposal mentions a poster session. Since a few years already,
posters have been replaced with lighting talks and I think this has worked
quite well. It would also avoid extra-sessions after 6:00 pm (which may not
be well-attended) and to keep the rooms free for the BoF sessions (which
btw are also not mentioned).
- the proposal does not mention the possibility to offer scholarships: is
this foreseen?

Thank you,
Marco
