Thank you for this excellent initiative. GeoForAll will be supporting four student awards prizes  and we are keen to ensure it is distributed in different regions, so your initiative for having student awards at the  Free and Open Source Geographic Information Technologies and Open Data Conference in South America is very good idea. I will forward your mail to the GeoForAll AB and if there are no objections/updates recieved in two weeks time, then please go-ahead and announce the student awards (total 500 USD) and start making arrangements for the competitions.


You can then contact directly  the OSGeo treasurer  to have the award amount  transferred. Thanks for your initiative.

Comunidad gvSIG Uruguay will be organizing a Free and Open Source Geographic Information Technologies and Open Data Conference in Montevideo (our fifth) and we would like to have GeoForAll deeply involved in its organization. We would like to organize the student's prize as it was already proposed. Estimated dates are October 11th and 12th 2018. Please let us know if you need any more information and how to proceed for budget issues.
