[foss4g2014] status update from VTM

Hi all,

Attached please see the milestones we have drafted for the September 2014 event. We incorporated the tasks/dates that you had on TeamworkPM into this as well (in bold). We highlighted a few line items in red that we have some questions on and we can plan to discuss these on our next meeting/call. Please let us know if you have any questions in the meantime and if we need to add any items to it.

We are still working with all the venues as noted last week and will continue to send updates as we receive them.

Hi Darrell,

Happy Halloween! We wanted to give you a status update on things. I'm still waiting on my accounting to let me know regarding a wire or check for the OSGEO funds. I should hear by EOD.

I contacted Travel Portland regarding the drop in the Marriott block and what they are now willing to offer the group. The contact is out until Monday so we'll move on that once we hear back. We'll need to wait on the OCC and Doubletree contracts unfortunately until then but have reviewed them in the meantime and reached out to both so they know we are their main POC now.

We contacted the Eliot Center and they have availability that Saturday for the group. They need to check with their engineer to be sure power isn't an issue.  They do only have public wifi so we would need to bring in our own provider to set up our own internet line (which other groups have done there).  Is OSGeo non-profit? If so, we get a 40% discount.

We also contacted OMSI regarding reception space and are waiting to hear back. We are also brainstorming other venues that would be large enough for the group.

The budget was great that you sent! We are just working on formatting it on our end so it is on one tab for easier use. I have the milestones almost complete as well and will send that to you and the team by Monday.
