Dear PSC members,
once again I have to contact you regarding:
GNIP 72 – Move docs in a separate repository
https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/issues/5629
The new repository [1] is ready with branches
master, 2.10, 2.8 as discussed at GitHub [2]
My original plan was now to just update the URL at RTD. Unfortunately
it appears RTD keeps track of old tags and preventing users to
wipe them out.
As we had 2.8 tag in GitHub.com/geonode/geonode [3],
RTD will rename our new branch to 2.8_a to avoid conflicts.
You can see this behaviour in my test build [4]
To overcome this ugly naming I would suggest to use a fresh
build https://geonode-documentation.readthedocs.io/en/master/
and change the CNAME of docs.geonode.org for pointing
to this new build. (Francesco kindly offered to change the
CNAME as he has access to our domain setup).
(As alternative we could keep the current RTF build and live with _a
naming.)
Cheers,
Toni
