I tested your SLD on GeoServer 2.14.x from GeoNode and it works seamlessly (see screenshot). 

I kindly suggest downloading the updated WAR from 

[ https://build.geo-solutions.it/geonode/geoserver/latest/geoserver-2.14.x.war | https://build.geo-solutions.it/geonode/geoserver/latest/geoserver-2.14.x.war ] 

We just updated it hence there were some dependency issues and bug-fixes from GeoServer main stream preventing it to work as expected in some particular cases.

I tested the hatch style on a fresh Geoserver 2.14 installation on ubuntu 16. The style work fine. Matteo, 
did you already tried with a vanilla GeoServer? It's likely that error has nothing to do with GeoNode itself. In this case I think it would be better to ask on the GeoServer list or open an issue on their tracker.

I have installed libbatik-java but nothing is change. I get the same error (I rebooted my server too).
