[GeoNode-users] Errors uploading shapefiles and creating empty layers

It depends on how you invoke the commands, if you are using paver directly
you must be sure the environment variables have been correctly set too.
Eventually you will need to "source .override_dev_env" first. You might
want to create a .sh file doing this for you instead of invoking "paver" or
"manage" directly.
Also, about the DB, you can eventually create the users by yourself and set
correctly the connection parameters on the env.

Still not sure about the second issue, it looks to me like a general
configuration problem.

The general rule is that you must always triple-check which environment
variables you are going to use before running any django/geonode app.
