Hi,
I have a test database with a table of 2.98 million rows (line features). It
took 10 minutes to create a spatial index (GIST) and 2 minutes to analyze the
data.

The box is a Dell server with 2 Xeon CPUs (2.4 GHz) and 2GB of RAM.

Cheers,
Christoph
