The last year standardized version of GeoJSON, IETF RFC7946, mentions in
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7946#page-12

Regarding OGR, it will support reading & writing GeoJSON files with any CRS. Unless that on 
the write side you specify RFC7946=YES as layer creation option, in which case automatic 
reprojection to WGS84 is done.
