[QGIS-Developer] Polygons disappearing bug

Hi,

Myself and my business partner are daily users of QGIS, and we have notices recently that we have been having problems with polygons disappearing when splitting polygons or editing vertices. Sometimes a seemingly random number and distribution of polygons disappear from the layer being edited. The polygons still exist in the attribute layer but they have a NULL geometry and area. We haven't been able to recover them.
