Have you brought this up with them?  How do they view people using SAGA
code in a qgis context?  Supportive?  Indifferent?  Oppposed, except for
the usual "the license gives you the freedom to do stuff like that, but
we won't help."?

(Given that you're writing from gmail, the default assumption is that
you're writing as an indvidual member of the open source community and
not proxying concerns from some other entity.)

How much use of SAGA is there within the qgis world?  Is any of that at
companies?  Are they willing to pay say 10% of what ESRI licenses would
cost?  Have they contacted SAGA and asked about maintenance that would
benefit QGIS?  Would they be willing to pay into a QGIS.org maintenance
bucket for SAGA-related tasks?  This is not special about SAGA - just
trying to poke at who wants what and who's willing to pay.
