[Qgis-user] SHP does not obey to change its SRC to a new one

Hi Allan:

A shapefile is a collection of files and the <shapefilename>.prj 
contains the original projection information. When you reproject a 
layer, export it as a new shapefile and the reprojected coorindates as 
well as the *.prj file will be written.

This may the problem you are encountering.
