Hi Dimitris,

How is handled the Proxy configuration in Nginx?
Did you checked if the proxy_pass in Nginx  is mapped to the same address
and port of <connector port> in tomcat7/server.xml?

If you can add the part of Nginx configuration to the tutorial page i think
it will be good.
